Regenerative Braking on the Model III

I've read on the Model S the regenerative braking is not actually under braking but simply when you lift off the throttle. Once the brakes are applied than it switches to the brake pads themselves.

I wonder if the Model III would allow a sharing of the responsibility. Seems regen and pads at the same time would increase stopping distance no?

I hope the Model III gets it too, i don't see why they shouldn't be able to do it, it's tech that they should be able to apply to just about any of their vehicle from how i see it.

I don't see what would be stopping them from using the same technology on the Model III. Regenerative braking seems like a pretty necessary part of an electric vehicle.

you guys have missed the point of what Coda is asking. The question was would the Model III's regen braking differ from the Model S, not would the Model III have regen braking.

As of now Model S only regens when there is no brake or throttle inputs, Coda wants to know if there would/could be a system that uses the brake's and regen at the same time.

not really sure how much it can differ, my guess is it will stay the same.

Perhaps, but products evolve over time!
